Citizen's Academy

The Farmville Police Department hosts an annual Citizen's Police Academy with the goal being to provide citizens with a general knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the Farmville Police Department, all to enhance our abilities to better serve the citizens and the community.

The topics covered in this academy include, but not limited to, the following:

Hiring and Training
Uniform Operations
Special Operations
Traffic Enforcement and Radar
Criminal Law
Investigations
Forensics
Court Room Testimony

The academy is open to citizens who reside:

In the Town of Farmville
In Prince Edward County
In Cumberland County

Also invited to attend are members of community and civic organizations or those that work within the Town of Farmville.
